Ritual River Rebels Rock!

The Ritual River Rebels Dragon Team was in full paddle again this July at the annual Rivercity Dragons Festival with all proceeds going to the St. Boniface Hospital, Woman & Child Program, and Cancer Care Manitoba.

Last year, we came in first in our division and raised a whopping $6300.00 (the highest amount of any single team in the festival). We loved it so much we vowed to do more this year.

We didn’t win, but came in a respectable third with a time of 2 minutes 24 seconds. But, we did raise nearly $13,000.00 (again the highest amount in the festival).

Thanks to our clients, friends and family who supported us in our goals to raise these funds for our community and the fight to find cures and treatments for cancer.

Rituals Team Achieves Great Things

We love to compete. For the entire team, it allows us creative freedom and an outlet for our souls. Through competition we also learn to be disciplined, challenge our technical skills, raise the bar for our industry standards, and provide our clients a glimpse of the passion we have for our profession, hairstyling and make-up artistry.

Here are just a few of the educational opportunities we took advantage of recently.

Chicago Midwest, Show March 2008 - We saw products and techniques like you wouldn’t believe at this show. The trade show and colour, haircutting and esthetic classes were fantastic and we learned so much.

Allied Beauty Association Trade show, Winnipeg 2008 - The entire team attended this show, focused on showing the latest techniques in hair and skin, products, and finishing ideas for the upcoming year.

Aveda Cut & Color Class, April 2008 - Full Spectrum Color Class - whole team learned the latest techniques in coloring with Aveda Coloring Systems. Aveda Color class, February 2007- Deep Color Class - whole team participated in a complete technical review of the Deep Color system from Aveda.

Schwarzkopf Color class - April 2008 - Blonde Me Coloring System - whole team learned the latest technical information , ingredients, for this new coloring and home maintenance system to achieve the perfect blonde. Schwarzkopf Color Master Class 2008 - Kaitlyn, our new talent hair artist, completed 3 full days of color theory and coloring techniques. Men’s Hair cutting/Barbering Class 2008 - Whole Team spent a full day of Men’s haircutting and Barbering techniques with John Unger.

#4 – WOMAN ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2008- EMERGING BUSINESS - WINNER

On May 22, 2008 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre the Woman of the Year, sponsored by the Woman Business Owners of Manitoba , was held and what a night it was.The room was filled with excitement and positive energy. It was a great celebration of Woman Business Owners in Manitoba and recognizing their efforts in 9 different categories. Kristina Poturica, owner of rituals in hair and skin, won for “ Emerging Business” , This category is for a business that has been in business for 3 to 5 years, and showed excellence in marketing, business strategies, and in service. Kristiina and her team have worked very hard to win this award, and thank all or our clients for their support over the last 5 years.
