The 2014 Pantone color of the year is Radiant Orchid and we’ll show you how to incorporate it into your make up, nails, and even hair!
All shades of purple are in this year for hair! From an all over lavender, to peak-a-boo violet hilites, purple can be used anywhere in any shade! If you want to keep it subtle, hilites placed in line with your temples will show every once in a while and won’t overwhelm a conservative style. If purple is your favorite color and you want to shout it from the roof top, go for an all over color ranging from a deep, rich plum to a pastel lavender!
There are a variety of ways to introduce a pop of color (in this case orchid) into your make up routine! Use the new color as an accent when applying you eyeshadows (add to the outside corner of your eyes and blend with a neutral shade), replace your black eyeliner with purple or do subtle eye make up with a purple lipstick! MUD make up carries purple shadows in Voodoo (medium purple color with shimmer), Sugared Violet (light, shimmery violet) and Vineyard (purply/pink shimmer). For the adventurous types, MUD has a new lipstick, Idol, that is a bright, vibrant purple!
Nail polish is probably one of the easiest ways to add the color of the year to your beauty regime! A solid color of any shade of purple can be done for a quick fix or you can try nail art or mix two shades of purple together. The Jamberry nail wraps also come in a variety of orchid shades and are easy to apply and remove!
No matter what your style is, there’s always an opportunity to add the color of the year to any outfit. Call the salon today to book any hair or esthetics appointments today!
