Sprit of hope is a volunteer run, foster based, non profit rescue that runs a low cost vaccination, spay/neuter, and food program for Indigenous communities. SOHR was started in January of 2012 by Director Cathie Mieyette as a promise to herself that if she was to survive what was then a life saving stem cell transplant, she would start a rescue to assist First Nations communities with the overpopulation of dogs. Cathie is a four time cancer survivor. Since 2012, Cathie and her team at SOHR has rescued more than 3500 dogs
